Abstract
In ageing, people face numerous chronic diseases and problems that affect their physical health and lead to the emergence of many psychological diseases that have a significant impact on the daily life of the elderly. Unfortunately, there is no real treatment for these psychological illnesses in modern health hospitals, and the treatments they offer for them do not have a significant effect. As a result, charlatans and those deviating from Islam have exploited these conditions by treating them in the name of Islam but in a way that contradicts Islamic teachings. Therefore, this research aims to discuss the guidelines in the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet to prevent psychological illnesses among the elderly. The research utilised an inductive, descriptive, and analytical approach to achieve this objective. The results of this research indicate that reciting the Quran, practising legitimate spiritual healing (Ruqyah), reciting authentic supplications and prayers, associating with righteous individuals, and keeping their company are among the most important guidelines that the Prophet Muhammad SAW indicated to protect people from psychological diseases
