Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines
Journal of Quran Sunnah Education and Special Needs (JQSS)

Authors are highly advised to read the Author Guidelines in preparing their manuscript according to the JQSS's specifications to ensure a smooth submission process. Authors are reminded to avoid plagiarism and adhere to the code of ethics of the JQSS.

Submission Guidelines

The Journal of Quran Sunnah Education and Special Needs (JQSS) is a refereed journal that publishes original and well-researched articles in the fields of Quranic and Sunnah education, special needs education, and any other related areas. Manuscripts published in the JQSS represent the views of the authors and not necessarily those of the editorial board or the institution.

JQSS accepts articles in English, Malay, and Arabic. Manuscripts submitted for consideration must not be under review elsewhere, in either electronic or printed form, nor previously published. The corresponding author must declare this upon submission. Authors who inadvertently violate this ethical guideline will be blacklisted from publishing in this journal.

Manuscripts should be submitted through the online submission system of OJS. New authors will be required to register before submission. Most processes are self-explanatory, but in case of assistance, please email the Managing Editor.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th style guide using Times New Roman or Traditional Arabic fonts. For Malay or Arabic manuscripts, an additional abstract and title in English should be provided. Keywords consisting of three (3) to five (5) words must be included. Font size should be 12 for Times New Roman and 16 for Traditional Arabic, with single spacing. The article length should not exceed 25 pages, including references. Kindly use the JQSS template for further reference.

Abstract
Each manuscript should include an abstract of 250-350 words. For Malay or Arabic manuscripts, an additional abstract and title in English must accompany the submission. Keywords should be three (3) to five (5) words.

Authorship
All authors named on the manuscript must have contributed to the paper, whether in design, analysis, interpretation of data, or drafting. All authors must have reviewed and approved the final version.

Conflict of Interest

Avoid any possible conflict of interest, or appearance of conflict of interest during the submission process.

Since the Journal practices peer-reviewing, authors are to be reminded not to nominate reviewers that are of the same institution and the authors of the manuscript. Authors should not nominate any individuals whom they know have already read and provided comments on the manuscript or a previous version of the manuscript since such knowledge would automatically violate the reviewing process. Suggested peer-reviewers will be considered in the reviewing process by the Journal. If there is no response from the suggested peer-reviewers, the Journal has the rights to nominate reviewers of the Journal.

Acknowledgment
Authors must disclose the source of funding for their research in the acknowledgment section using the format:
"The research work was funded by [Grant’s Name] (Grant No.)." Contributors other than listed authors should also be acknowledged.

Timeliness
Authors should promptly revise their manuscripts. JQSS practices a two-week revision period. If an extension is required, authors must inform the Editorial Office. Manuscripts with no revised submission will be withdrawn. If an author wishes to withdraw a manuscript, they must notify the Editorial Office with appropriate reasons and complete the Article Withdrawal Form
