The full terms of this licence may be seen at <a href=""></a></p> <p> </p> The Effects of Warm Colour on Memorization of Arabic Words <p>This study was conducted to examine whether warm colour had effects on memorization of Arabic words. Participants involved were 90 students from a private religious secondary school in Perak. They were each given a set of paper consisting of one Surah; with six words been highlighted with warm colour (red and yellow), cool colour (green and blue) or white colour background. The paper also contained the meaning of each word in Arabic, which were extracted from exegesis book <em>Tafsir al-Jalalain</em>. The participants were given fifteen minutes to memorize the list of words and their meaning in Arabic language. The percentage of words recalled correctly were the dependent variable. It was hypothesized that participants who received warm-coloured set could recall more Arabic words than participants who received either the cool-coloured set or the white set. A paired sample t-test and Wilcoxon test were conducted and the results indicated that there was not a statistically significant difference in percentage of words recalled based on paper set. Therefore, students with special needs education are not excluded in mainstream education that involves the use of the Malay language. The subject of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) uses Malay as the medium of instruction for Muslim students in the learning process. One of the important elements in the PAI subject is the <em>Rukun Islam</em> and the <em>Rukun Iman</em>. Therefore, this study aims to identify the level of mastery of the first language through reading in the <em>Rukun Islam</em> and the <em>Rukun Iman</em> of sluggish teenagers. Then, see the extent of the memory of sluggish teenagers through memorization in the <em>Rukun Islam</em> and the <em>Rukun Iman</em> of sluggish teenagers. Next, evaluate the effects of the application of B.F. Behaviorism Theory. Skinner in sluggish adolescent first language acquisition. In addition, this study also applies positive reinforcement by giving praise and encouragement if the respondent gives a smooth and good reading. On the other hand, if there is a deficiency in the aspect of reading the <em>Rukun Islam</em> and the <em>Rukun Iman</em> then negative reinforcement is applied. In this study, negative reinforcement refers to the researcher's actions of reprimanding, advising and correcting wrong answers given by respondents. The results of the study show that slow teenagers can read well in Malay which is the first language of the respondents. However, the respondents were unable to remember and memorize the Pillars of Islam and the Pillars of Faith like normal teenagers of their age. It is hoped that this study can be a guide for future studies related to sluggish teenagers who experience problems in learning the subject of PAI in schools in the special education stream.<br /><br /><strong>Abstrak<br /></strong>Aspek penguasaan bahasa pertama, iaitu bahasa Melayu begitu penting dalam sistem pendidikan di Malaysia. Justeru itu, murid berkeperluan khas juga tidak terkecuali dalam pendidikan aliran perdana yang melibatkan penggunaan bahasa Melayu. Subjek Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) menggunakan bahasa pengantar dalam bahasa Melayu kepada murid muslim dalam proses pembelajaran. Antara salah satu elemen penting dalam subjek PAI adalah Rukun Islam dan Rukun Iman. Oleh yang demikian, kajian ini bertujuan mengenal pasti tahap penguasaan bahasa pertama melalui bacaan dalam Rukun Islam dan Rukun Iman remaja lembam. Kemudian, melihat sejauh mana tahap ingatan remaja lembam melalui hafalan dalam Rukun Islam dan Rukun Iman remaja lembam. Seterusnya, menilai kesan aplikasi Teori Behaviorisme B.F. Skinner dalam penguasaan bahasa pertama remaja lembam. Selain itu, kajian ini juga mengaplikasikan pengukuhan positif dengan memberikan pujian dan dorongan jika responden memberikan bacaan yang lancar dan baik. Sebaliknya, jika berlaku kekurangan dalam aspek bacaan Rukun Islam dan Rukun Iman maka pengkuhan negatif diaplikasikan. Dalam kajian ini pengukuhan negatif merujuk kepada tindakan penyelidik menegur, menasihati dan membetulkan kesalahan jawapan yang diberikan oleh responden. Hasil dapatan kajian menunjukkan, remaja lembam boleh membaca dengan baik dalam bahasa Melayu yang menjadi bahasa pertama responden. Namun begitu, responden tidak dapat mengingat dan menghafal Rukun Islam dan Rukun Iman seperti remaja normal seusianya. Among them was Ibn Sinā, a Muslim philosopher, who emphasized the study of the human soul. His mental conception of the soul was so well-developed that it received much attention and appreciation from later Islamic philosophers such as al-Ghazāli, Fakhruddin al-Rāzi, Ibn Rushd and Western scholars. This article explores Ibn Sinā's concept of the soul and its substance in Islamic education. The methodology employed is a literature review together with qualitative research using exploratory, descriptive, and analytical approaches. Ibn Sinā argued that the soul is a living spiritual substance inspiring the body and forms the infrastructure for acquiring knowledge and transforming it in real life. In contrast to the body, the soul is immaterial and eternal. Islamic education cannot be separated from the psychological elements elucidated by Ibn Sinā and must incorporate relevant psychological aspects in order to fully develop the potential of students towards becoming exemplary human beings (<em>insān kāmil</em>).</p> Senata Adi Prasetia Arif Ainur Rofiq Joki Perdani Sawai Rezki Perdani Sawai Copyright (c) 2022 Rezki Perdani Sawai 2022-12-01 2022-12-01 6 2 49 61 10.33102/jqss.vol6no2.162 Persepsi Pelajar terhadap Penggunaan Gamifikasi Tahfiz Global dalam Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran Subjek Muraja’ah al-Quran <p>The method of talaqqi and musyafahah has been implemented in Quranic education since the time of The Prophet PBUH until today. Currently, the development of multimedia technology has changed the traditional Quranic teaching and learning method by innovating the diversity of new techniques and approaches. An innovation in Quranic education produced a positive achievement in solving Quran illiteracy, restricted time allocation, and limited methods issues. Therefore, the gamification method in teaching and learning al-Quran is applied due to its time management flexibility and user-friendly. It is a new method in Quranic education and is able to attract Gen Z who like to try new things. The objectives of this study are to study students’ perception of the “Gamification Tahfiz Global” product that was implemented in a classroom and to identify their thought on the usage of this product applied in the subject of Muraja’ah al-Quran. The methodology of this study is a descriptive study using a quantitative survey question. It was later supported by a qualitative analysis extracted from <em>Syafawi al-Quran</em> test results among year One students from the Bachelor of Qiraat Studies, USIM. This study was analysed descriptively based on the frequency and percentage involving 32 respondents by using purposive sampling. The result of the study shows that students’ perceptions of “Tahfiz Global Gamification” product and the use of this product in the subject of <em>Muraja’ah al-Quran</em> are at a good stage. In conclusion, gamification in the learning of the Quran is an interactive form of education in empowering the dignity of the Quran as Allah’s guidance that meets the needs of the education curriculum, and our obligatory acts (fardhu ain) that must be performed by each Muslim.<br /><br /><strong>Abstrak</strong></p> <p>Pendidikan al-Quran sangat sinonim dengan kaedah pelaksanaannya secara <em>talaqqi</em> dan <em>musyafahah</em> sejak zaman Rasulullah SAW sehingga kini. Namun corak pendidikan turut berkembang dan berubah mengikut arus perkembangan teknologi multimedia dengan menginovasikan kepelbagaian kaedah dan teknik pengajaran dan pembelajaran al-Quran. Fenomena inovasi dalam pendidikan al-Quran memberi kesan positif dalam menangani isu buta huruf dalam al-Quran serta menyelesaikan isu-isu pembelajaran seperti peruntukan masa dan kaedah yang terhad. Lantaran itu, kaedah gamifikasi dalam pembelajaran al-Quran sangat mesra pengguna dengan masa yang lebih fleksible. Walaupun kaedah gamifikasi ini adalah sesuatu yang agak baharu dalam pendidikan al-Quran, namun ia merupakan salah satu bentuk yang lebih kreatif dan inovatif dalam mempengaruhi golongan gen Z yang sangat suka kepada sesuatu baharu. Objektif kajian ini untuk mengenal pasti persepsi pelajar terhadap produk Gamifikasi Tahfiz Global yang dilaksanakan dalam kelas dan meninjau persepsi pelajar terhadap penggunaan Gamifikasi Tahfiz Global dalam kelas dari aspek objektif dan kesannya terhadap subjek Muraja’ah al-Quran dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran subjek muraja’ah al-Quran. Metodologi kajian berbentuk kajian deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif iaitu pengedaran set soal selidik dan disokong dengann kualitatif melalui analisis dokumen keputusan ujian Syafawi al-Quran dalam kalangan pelajar tahun 1, program Ijazah Sarjana Muda Pengajian Qiraat, USIM. Kajian ini dianalisis secara deskriptif melalui kekerapan dan peratusan melibatkan 32 orang responden dengan menggunakan persampelan bertujuan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan persepsi pelajar terhadap produk Gamifikasi Tahfiz Global dan penggunaan produk ini dalam subjek Muraja’ah al-Quran berada pada tahap yang baik. Their wavering belief as Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah (ASWJ) will eventually drag them into heretical beliefs and apostasy if not given due attention. Regardless of sound religious education that the youngsters received, they are still vulnerable to deviant religious teachings due to easy access of information through digital networks. Hence, there is a need to identify the level of knowledge and understanding of students at Institute of Teacher Education Raja Melewar Campus (IPGKRM) on their Sunni Islam practices. The need is in concordance with teachers being regarded as icons as well as important representatives to impart their knowledge to the community. This paper is a quantitative study using sampling approach to identify and present statistic report on level of knowledge on Sunni Islam belief among IPGKRM students. The data is collected through online distribution of questionnaire instruments. The results of the analysis found that the mean value score for level of knowledge on Sunni Islam belief among the respondents was 637.3 / 165.0 = 3.86. The finding shows a high level of Sunni Islam knowledge among the IPGKRM students. The study further shows highest score on level of knowledge related to belief on the prophets. Thus, this study implicates that IPGKRM campus students need to have strong mastery of Sunni Islam knowledge to ensure their capability in imparting knowledge on ASWJ to the community in future<br /><br /><strong>Abstrak</strong><br /><br />Isu akidah dalam kalangan generasi muda semakin membimbangkan. Pegangan akidah Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah yang goyah akan menyeret mereka dalam kancah ajaran sesat dan jenayah murtad. Walaupun sebahagian generasi muda mendapat pendidikan yang mantap, namun mereka masih terdedah dengan ajaran agama yang menyeleweng berikutan mudahnya memperoleh informasi menerusi rangkaian digital. Oleh itu, terdapat keperluan untuk mengenal pasti tahap pengetahuan dan pemahaman pelajar IPGKRM terhadap Akidah Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah (ASWJ) sejajar guru sebagai ikon serta ejen penting dalam menyampaikan ilmu kepada masyarakat. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif yang bersifat pesampelan bertujuan bagi melaporkan secara statistik mengenai tahap pasti tahap pengetahuan akidah Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah dalam kalangan pelajar IPGKRM. Tatacara kutipan data dilakukan dengan pengedaran instrumen soal-selidik secara dalam talian. Hasil analisis mendapati bahawa nilai min skor bagi tahap pengetahuan akidah ahli sunnah wal jamaah dalam kalangan pelajar adalah 637.3 / 165.0 = 3.86. Keadaan ini menunjukkan bahawa tahap pengetahuan akidah Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah pelajar IPGKRM berada pada tahap yang tinggi. Kajian ini turut mendapati tahap pengetahuan berkaitan aspek keimanan kepada rasul merupakan skor yang tertinggi. Implikasi kajian ini mencadangkan supaya semua pelajar kampus IPGKRM perlu menguasai akidah Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah sehingga mampu menjadi jambatan untuk menyampaikan manhaj pemikiran Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah kepada masyarakat luar pada masa akan datang.</p> Abdul Hadi Sulaiman Hasnurol Hashim Zuraini Yaakub Aisah Hasmam Abd Razak Abu Chik Mohd Muhsinul Nidzam Abdullah Sohaina Mohd Salleh Wan Ali Akbar Wan Abdullah Copyright (c) 2022 Abdul Hadi Sulaiman, Hasnurol Hashim, Zuraini Yaakub, Aisah Hasmam, Abd Razak Abu Chik, Mohd Muhsinul Nidzam Abdullah, Sohaina Mohd Salleh, Wan Ali Akbar Wan Abdullah 2022-12-01 2022-12-01 6 2 79 90 10.33102/jqss.vol6no2.167 Evaluating the Readiness of al-Madinah International University’ Journals In Malaysia for the Inclusion in International Databases, Year 2022 <p>The study sought to determine the basic criteria adopted for the inclusion of scientific journals in the world-renowned databases (DOAJ, ADL, MYCITE, SCOPUS, WOS), and then to diagnose the current situation of five scientific journals issued by Al-Madinah International University, represented by (Journal of International Islamic Sciences), And (Al-Rasikhoon Journal), (Al-Madinah International University Journal), (Al-Lisan International Journal for Linguistic and Literary Studies), and (Al-Madinah International University Journal for Educational and Psychological Sciences) for the year 2022, then evaluated through eighteen criteria for: (DOAJ), nine for ADL, twenty-two for (Mycite), twenty for (Scopus) and twenty for (WOS); To verify the qualification and readiness of scientific journals at Al-Madinah International University to join the global databases, the study adopted the descriptive approach; To describe the criteria of scientific publication followed in the scientific journals under study, then comparative; To compare these standards used in the scientific journals, with the basic criterias adopted in international databases. The study reached to identify the most important shortcomings and obstacles that prevented the scientific journals from inclusion to global databases, and defining the basic criterias that must be available in these scientific journals; in order to be included in the global databases. The curricula of Islamic religious education are considered one of the essential tools in facing this challenge. This study aims to research fourteen values maid to help the child in the harmonious form of his Dutch Islamic identity in its three dimensions: collective, relational, and personal, by diagnosing the extent of these values ​​in Islamic religious education curricula. This study relied on the descriptive approach, according to a comprehensive survey method, and using a questionnaire sent to the research community consisting of all religious education teachers in Islamic primary schools in the province of South Holland. In analyzing the data, the study relied on descriptive analysis methods. The study revealed that the general orientation of the research community is neutrality regarding the presence of four of these values, which are: human brotherhood, citizenship, at-tazkiyah (cleaning and development) and al-omran (being constructive), and also neutrality regarding the curricula's observance of cultural pluralism in the family and school environments of the child in presenting the values of the relational dimension.
