Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify Al-Fatihah recitation level and Solat obligation among diploma, degree, and dual-degree students in engineering-based programme in one of technical based public university. Data collection was made by assigning individual task of university compulsory subject called Soft Skills. 712 Muslim students were involved in this research among 1165 registered students using purposive sampling technique. All task and evaluation process via e-learning portal. Qualitative approach namely content analysis followed by quantitative method namely descriptive analysis, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson correlation test were used to answer research question and hypothesis testing. As a result, there are significant different of Al-Fatihah recitation level and solat obligation among group. The correlation test show that there is significant correlation among the variable. The discussion assumes that cognitive and thinking level, personal and family background are the vital factors of analysis output. As a research contribution, the implication and further research was stated at the end of paper.

Abstrak

Kajian ini bertujuan mengenal pasti tahap kefasihan bacaan Al-Fatihah dan tahap kefahaman kewajipan solat dalam kalangan pelajar peringkat diploma, sarjana muda (degree), dan sarjana muda berkembar (dual-degree) yang mengikuti program pengajian berteraskan kejuruteraan salah sebuah universiti awam. Kutipan data dibuat menerusi tugasan individu dalam subjek wajib universiti iaitu kemahiran Insaniah. Seramai 712 pelajar Muslim dilibatkan dalam kajian ini dari 1165 jumlah pelajar mengambil subjek Kemahiran Insaniah dengan menggunakan teknik persampelan bertujuan. Semua tugasan dan penilaian dibuat menerusi portal e-pembelajaran. Penilaian secara kualitatif iaitu analisis isi kandungan diikuti analisis kuantitatif iaitu deskriptif, ujian ANOVA satu hala, dan pengiraan korelasi Pearson bertujuan menjawab persoalan kajian dan menguji hipotesis. Hasil analisis mendapati terdapat perbezaan signifikan antara kumpulan pelajar bagi tahap kefasihan bacaan Al-Fatihah dan pemahan kewajipan solat. Pengiraan korelasi menunjukkan terdapat perbezaan hubung-kait mengikut kumpulan. Perbincangan mengandaikan tahap kognitif, aras pemikiran, didikan individu, dan latar belakang keluarga sebagai faktor utama mempengaruhi tahap kefasihan bacaan Al-Fatihah dan kefahaman kewajipan solat. Implikasi dan cadangan kajian lanjutan dinyatakan sebagai sumbangan kajian
